Hummingbird (Pollinator) Primary Feather

June 16, 2015

From the USFWS_Pacific Southwest Region:

Pollinators may be small but they are mighty! This is a hummingbird primary (wing/flight) feather found atSacramento National Wildlife Refuge Complex.

In the United States, #pollinators help to produce nearly $20 billion worth of products annually. Inadequate pollination can reduce crop yields, produce smaller fruits with fewer seeds and increase disease in fruit. For such small animals, pollinators play a large role in many of the foods and beverages we enjoy.#polliNATION
