It’s that time of year again: endangered Atlantic salmon are on the run!
And sometimes they need a lift, too. That's where the fish lift at the Milford Dam on the Penobscot River in Maine comes in.
The fish lift has seen 328 salmon return this year, with 10 to 20 coming each day. Our work to restore Atlantic salmon to their native waters in Maine continues into the fall when we spawn and incubate eggs from some of these fish, releasing the fry next spring.
