Today is #WorldShoreBirdDay. Shorebirds, like this Lesser Yellowlegs, come in many shapes and sizes. However, they all share common characteristics besides living on wetlands or shorelines; they also have slender, probing bills and longish legs. The interesting fact about the Lesser Yellowlegs is that it runs through shallow water to catch its prey.
