From the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, Mountain-Prairie Region:
Check out this sweet underwater shot of a bull trout our researchers caught and then released in Montana! OK, so we may have dropped the antlers in the water for artistic value, but we think it paid off!
Since 1997, our Montana Fish and Wildlife Conservation Office has worked cooperatively with the Blackfeet Tribe, Glacier National Park, and the U.S. Bureau of Reclamation to gather important information on the status and biology of the federally threatened St. Mary River Bull Trout population in northwest Montana.
