Trumpeter Swan

From USFWS_Migratory Birds:

In just a short time, the Federal Duck Stamp Art Contest will begin! Watch live online beginning at 10 AM EST: http://go.usa.gov/3eb7d. Here's a profile of the final eligible species. The largest of the North American waterfowl, the Trumpeter Swan has a 6 ½-foot wingspan. Adults are all white with a long, gracefully curving neck and sloping forehead that ends in a solid black bill. Immature Trumpeter Swans are a dirty white with gray-pink legs that change to yellowish gray and then to dull black. Immature birds have a gray-black, pink tipped bill. Hunted for its feathers through the 1800s, the Trumpeter Swan was reduced to near extinction by the early 20th century, but is relatively common today.
