Cinnamon Teal

From USFWS_Migratory Birds:

Continuing the countdown to the Federal Duck Stamp Contest, beginning this Friday! (Learn more:http://go.usa.gov/3eb7d) We profile the next eligible species for the contest. A small, brightly colored duck, the Cinnamon Teal is one of the least abundant dabbling ducks, found in ponds throughout the American West. Cinnamon Teal and fellow dabbling ducks are recognizable by their unique method of feeding – tipping their bills, heads or upper bodies into the water (“dabbling”) to reach their food, rather than submerging completely as diving ducks do. Females are gray-brown with large light-blue patches on the front of their wings that are visible when they are in flight. Males have bright cinnamon red heads and bodies.
