Wawona Tunnel Tree

From Yosemite National Park:

View of stage drawn by four horses, going through the Wawona Tunnel Tree, Mariposa Grove of Giant Sequoias. The tree fell during a heavy snow fall in the winter of 1968-69. The Wawona Tunnel Tree was weak due to extensive paving over its fragile roots and the hole that was cut into it. Yosemite has two other tunnel trees located in the park, but you can't drive your vehicle through them. The California Tunnel Tree located in the Mariposa Grove that stands near the Grizzly Giant, and the Dead Giant which stands in the Tuolumne Grove.
