From Florida Keys National Wildlife Refuges Complex:
Soaring on a Sunday. The Florida Keys windy winter weather makes it easy for turkey vultures to soar for hours without ever flapping their wings. If you've looked up in the air recently you may have seen hundreds of these birds on their southbound migration. While we have turkey vultures year-round in the Florida Keys, the refuges host overwintering birds from the north, as well as being located along their migration route to central and south America.
