Winter is the best season to watch and photograph wading birds of multiple species in the Florida Keys NWR's. They are extremely skittish when feeding and resting; the best way to get close and not disturb them is to use binoculars, spotting scopes and the telephoto lens on your camera. These magnificent birds were once hunted close to extinction for their beautiful feathers; with your help we'll ensure that they are around for future generations of Americans (and visitors) to appreciate.
