Today Interior and the U.S. Department of Agriculture announced steps to protect Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness by denying a proposed mine near the area. With its pristine waters and internationally renowned fishing, Boundary Waters in Minnesota is one of the most visited wildernesses, generating $45 million annually to the local economy from tourism and outdoor recreation.
