November is #ManateeAwarenessMonth! Pictured here is a manatee at the Three Sisters Springs in Crystal River National Wildlife Refuge Complex. This Florida refuge was established in 1983 specifically for the protection of the endangered West Indian manatee. Crystal River refuge preserves the warm water spring havens, providing critical habitat for the manatee populations that migrate here each winter.
