Please Do Not Catch Wild Animals!

From Washita National Wildlife Refuge:

This bobcat kitten was brought to our office after being captured by some well-meaning passersby. This kitten was with it's mother and litter-mates near a road when it was spotted by a passing motorist. The motorist thought that these wild animals were in need of "rescue", so stopped to catch them. The mother and 4 other kittens escaped, but this kitten was captured. Unfortunately, this kitten now really does need rescued since it was taken from it's mother.

PLEASE DO NOT catch wild animals! This bobcat kitten now has little chance of living wild again. If an animal has obvious injuries, they may need help from a vet, but as was the case here, if they are not injured leave them alone. Not only is this damaging for the wild animal, it can be dangerous for you too as this little guy can still bite and scratch. Bites can become infected, and some wild animals that are easy to catch are sick and may transmit diseases such as rabies to humans. Keep wild animals wild!
