Happy Mole Day!

From USFWS Conserving New York:

Happy Mole Day!

Mole day may be meant to celebrate the important unit of chemistry, but we think that these moles deserve some attention too!

Did you know that star-nosed moles are semiaquatic and will often tunnel out into streams or lakes? They are very effective swimmers and will even swim under the ice during the winter.

One of the coolest facts about star-nosed moles is that they can smell underwater by blowing bubbles onto objects and then re-inhaling them! Neat!
