Yellowstone Lake and Lake Trout

Sunrise Over Yellowstone Lake — A stunning shot of the sunrise over Yellowstone Lake in Yellowstone National Park. USGS collaborative research is using acoustic transmitters implanted in invasive lake trout to document movement patterns in Yellowstone Lake to will assist with active netting activity by the National Park Service and identification of spawning areas that can subsequently be targeted for embryo removal. These data are critical for expanding management options for suppressing invasive lake trout.
