Protecting Migratory Birds

From USFWS_Migratory Birds:

On this day 99 years ago, the United States and Great Britain (on behalf of Canada) signed the first treaty to protect migratory birds, including egrets, who were killed for their plumes. This treaty ushered in a new era of domestic and international wildlife conservation, which expanded with the addition of treaties with Mexico, Japan and Russia. Join us as we commemorate the centennial of the treaty over the next year, and look forward to the next 100 years of migratory bird conservation. Keep following this page and our Twitter account @USFWSBirds, or visit our centennial website: http://www.fws.gov/birds/MBTreaty100/index.php
