From USFWS Southwest Region:
Using live animals and natural artifacts, Sean Edwards, a biologist with the Fish and Wildlife Office in Arlington, Texas, visited with about 450 students from three Fort Worth area schools. Sean described the responsibilities of being a wildlife biologist, helped the students better understand the importance of our connection to the environment, and, of course, answered numerous questions. This is another way that we work connecting children with nature, encouraging kids to explore their local natural areas. And maybe, just maybe, one of those kids will grow to become a wildlife biologist.

African elephants could become extinct by 2020 if widespread poaching continues. They are a keystone species, maintaining the savanna habitat on which many other organisms depend. Credit: USFWS
