Press release:

EPA Presents GROW 2012! - a Procurement Outreach Workshop
for Port Arthur Area Small Businesses

(DALLAS – September 26, 2012) Port Arthur Mayor Deloris Prince will welcome participants to a procurement workshop sponsored by the Environmental Protection Agency at the Lamar State College Carl A. Parker Multipurpose Center on Thursday, October 11, 2012.

GROW 2012! is a workshop designed to increase the small business community’s awareness of how to do business with the EPA and other federal, state and local entities. During the one-day event, business owners will have a rare opportunity to discuss strategies for procurement with federal, state and local representatives.

GROW 2012! features an exhibition of potential business opportunities and an opening session that includes a panel of local experts who will educate participants on the key “do’s and don’ts” of running a business.

The goal of this EPA hosted workshop is to provide a platform for small businesses to continue to make a difference environmentally and economically through an increased understanding of the procurement process and the potential opportunities that may be available given their designation as “small.”
