From U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service Midwest Region:

Sandhill cranes may fly up to 400 miles in one day during migration. In the winter, they can be seen in huge flocks at Bosque del Apache National Wildlife Refuge in New Mexico and Anahuac National Wildlife Refuge in Texas.
