Standing tall and elegant, this great blue heron was photographed by Bryn, a volunteer naturalist with the Portland-Vancouver Urban Refuge Program (https://www.fws.gov/refuge/Tualatin_River/Urban/) at Tualatin River National Wildlife Refuge (https://www.fws.gov/refuge/Tualatin_River/) in Oregon. The urban program works to introduce residents in the metro area to the nature of their community.
