From USFWS National Wildlife Refuge System:
Refuges love getting kids into nature. Fourth-graders discover the fun of birding while visiting San Diego Bay National Wildlife Refuge as “Wildlife Rangers.” The program, funded by the SoCal (Southern California) Urban Wildlife Refuge partnership, is run by the San Diego Refuge Complex to deepen residents’ ties to nature. In addition to birding, students restore habitat and learn how they can help protect wildlife. Photo: Lisa Cox/USFWS
