From U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service:
What a photo from Bosque del Apache National Wildlife Refuge in New Mexico! This early morning rain shower was captured across the desert landscape.
Situated between the Chupadera Mountains to the west and the San Pascual Mountains to the east, the 57,331-acre refuge harbors a wild stretch of the Rio Grande, a ribbon of cottonwood and willow trees visible on the landscape from distant mesas.
While there is always something interesting to see, you will find the greatest numbers of birds at the refuge from early November to mid-February. Registration is now open for the 27th Annual Festival of the Cranes, November 18- 23, 2014! http://1.usa.gov/1s9gfvo
