EPA Awards $77,021 for
Environmental Stewardship Work
(DALLAS – May 9,
2012) The Ozark Nature Mentoring Initiative and Ozark Tracker Society received
$77,021 to create environmental mentoring communities in their local areas. The
program promotes the development of training for people interested in teaching
others about nature.
Partnering
with Jon Young and the 8SG, U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, U.S. Corps of
Engineers, Arkansas State Parks and the Greenway of the Cherokee Ozarks, this
program will provide nature mentoring workshops and recruit educators from
tribal, local and state organizations to be trained as mentors. It targets
participants in Arkansas, Oklahoma and Missouri.
