Northern Harrier (Circus cyaneus)

From Florida Keys National Wildlife Refuges Complex:

Have you seen this hawk gliding just above the trees and shrubs along the marshes? It's a northern harrier, also known as a marsh hawk. Another characteristic that identifies this species is a white patch of feathers just at the base of its tail. If you get to see its face up close, it almost looks like an owl, and that shape helps it listen for and locate small mammals hiding and moving through the marsh.
