White Color Variety of Reddish Egret

From Florida Keys National Wildlife Refuges Complex:

Did you know that reddish egrets have a white color variety? Once you know what to look for, you can easily tell them apart from similar white egrets and herons. Check out the bi-color bill, and watch for that unique feeding behavior; they like to run around to capture their prey (fish, shrimp) versus waiting for it to come to them. If you want to learn more interesting facts on wading birds, join us for our backcountry tours of Great White Heron NWR that are part of the upcoming Outdoor Fest.
