Robins are a sign of spring renewal for many people, but the bird can actually be spotted across the country year-round. To the Iroquois and Shoshone tribes, the white ring around the robin's eye was symbolic of prophetic vision, clarity, and great wisdom. The robin would be called upon during ceremonies when clear understanding was needed, and quality judgments needed to be made.
