Happy National Mountain Day! Mountain goats are well adapted to their rugged mountainous homes. Their hooves are split in two, to better grip rocky surfaces, and have pads that provide additional traction. Mountain goats also have two "dewclaws" on the backside of their legs to keep from slipping. These mountaineers are nimble, agile and a treat to watch.
