Bloodroot

From the Mingo National Wildlife Refuge:




Look for wildflowers along the base of the bluffs. This Bloodroot was seen along the Ozark Highlands Auto Tour Route. It gets the name Bloodroot because Native Americans would use the roots for a red dye.
