Yellow-headed blackbird (Xanthocephalus xanthocephalus)

Its call sounds like a rusty farm gate opening. You can see the yellow-headed blackbird in western and prairie wetlands. It nests in reeds just over the water. In winter, the bird flies in huge flocks and feeds on seeds and grains.
