Ring-necked Ducks

From Mingo National Wildlife Refuge:

#USFWS

It's the beginning of breeding season, and waterfowl are showing off their best plumage. This pair of Ring-necked Ducks, spotted in Ditch 3, have visible neck rings, which are often not noticeable despite their name. The male's feathers also show a purple iridescence.
