The Only Remaining Wild Population of Endangered Whooping Cranes

From USFWS National Wildlife Refuge System:

The only remaining wild population of endangered whooping cranes is having a good season at Aransas National Wildlife Refuge in Texas (https://www.fws.gov/refuge/aransas/). Some 300 adult cranes and their 45 chicks are wintering there. The annual Whooping Crane Festival (http://www.whoopingcranefestival.org/) is Feb. 23-26 in Port Aransas. Photo: Klaus Nigge/USFWS
