From Little Rock District, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers:
Rare Brown Booby sighting at Dierks Lake! Local bird waters have spotted the seabird near Blue Ridge Campground.
Brown Booby normally reside on islands and coasts in tropical areas of the Atlantic and Pacific oceans. They are known for their ability to dive into water at high speeds to catch small fish or squid.
The rare sighting of the Sula Leucogaster "Brown Booby,"a tropical bird, at Dierks Lake has attracted several bird watchers and local groups wanting to get a closer look at the majestic bird.
