Long-billed Curlew

The incredible bill of the long-billed curlew is well-adapted for feeding on crabs and shrimp (and other prey that burrows deep into the ground). They'll also eat grasshoppers and caterpillars from the surface.

The #FestivaloftheCranes2016 is now complete, but the sandhill cranes are here till about mid-February.

Can you pick out the juvenile amidst the adults? Look for the dull brown crown, as opposed to the bright red of the adults.
