U.S. EPA Media Advisory:
(DALLAS – March 23, 2021) The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), Southwest Center for Pediatric Environmental Health and Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center El Paso are hosting a virtual disaster recovery workshop for the Houston, Texas area. The session is part of a four-part series, the first session will take place on March 25, 2021 at 5p.m. (CT).
The event features an overview of environmental hazards associated with flooding and the potential impacts to homes and schools. Participants will also learn about the roles of health care practitioners and other community leaders in disaster recovery. Lastly, the session will offer guidance on identifying children’s unique vulnerabilities to environmental risks. These sessions are for parents, teachers, health care providers, maintenance staff and community members. A certificate of attendance will be given to every registered participant who attends the entire session. The certificate of attendance may be used for your professional development.
