From USFWS Southwest Region:
Great forecasts mean great fishing weather! Due to drought conditions and decreasing water flows, Williams Creek National Fish Hatchery and their partners at the Wildlife and Outdoor Recreation Division and Arizona Fish and Wildlife Conservation Office have decided to stock Apache trout in the White Mountain Apache Tribe rivers and streams early this year, to decrease the volume of fish on station. The Apache trout being stocked will range from 9 to 17 inches, trophy sizes for this unique native species. First distribution could begin as early as next week and Easter weekend would be the perfect time to take advantage of Apache trout fishing. Bring your friends and family to enjoy the mild temperatures of spring, great fishing, and all the other outdoor activities the White Mountains have to offer!
